PRIVACY & SECURITY

Florida Bureau has taken significant measures to protect the privacy and security of personal information. “Personal Information” is any information that would allow someone to identify or contact your clients. Such personal information includes your clients’ names, social security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, facsimile numbers, or e-mail addresses.

Personal information will be used solely for the purpose for which it was collected, which is to assist Florida Bureau of Unclaimed Funds in the rapid recovery of your unclaimed or lost assets.

Florida Bureau does not sell, share, trade, or otherwise disclose any personal information unless legally required to do so. An example of a situation requiring legal disclosure of our clients’ personal information may occur in connection with providing the trustee or holder of the unclaimed or lost assets with identifying information necessary to verify that you are the intended recipient of unclaimed or lost assets. The trustee and holder of the unclaimed or lost assets are just as concerned about Identity Theft and Fraud as you are, and this is why they often require such information.

Florida Bureau has developed internal procedures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information that is provided to us by our clients. All personally identifiable information is subject to restricted access even among our employees. Florida Bureau security measures are designed to protect the disclosure, loss, or misuse of information under our control. Once a recovery is complete, we make a substantial effort to remove personal information from our database and files. We shred all confidential and private information once the recovery process is completed.

Recovering your assets and protecting personal information are one of Florida Bureau’s top priorities.

Confidentiality & Nondisclosure Policy Florida Bureau attempts to protect all Confidential Information provided to Global by its clients from disclosure to any person or entities other than the authorized Global employee assigned to a client’s case.

The term “Confidential Information” includes all proprietary or trade secret information
relating to our clients including, without limitation, information regarding our clients’ business operations, clients, financial information, marketing strategies and any notes, analyses, compilations, studies, interpretations, or other documents prepared by our clients.

The term “Confidential Information” does not include any information which
(i) at the time of a client’s disclosure is generally available to or known by the public, Florida Bureau or Florida Bureau’s representatives;
(ii) was available to Florida Bureau prior to disclosure by our client, or
(iii) becomes available to Florida Bureau on a non-confidential basis from a person other than our client.

If Florida Bureau receives a request to disclose all or any Confidential Information under the terms of a valid and effective subpoena or order issued, Florida Bureau will
(i) immediately notify our client of the existence, terms and circumstances surrounding such a request,
(ii) consult with our client on the advisability of taking legally available steps to resist or narrow such request.
